Crash Courses...

First...the last few months have been a crash course in the workings of a Mission Home Office.  It has been such a joy to begin learning all that goes into the “behind the scenes” workings of Tentmakers Bible Mission.  God is good and He is helping us to figure out what needs to get done in order to help this office run smoothly day to day.  As I am writing, we are wrapping up weeks of preparation for our semi-annual TBM Board Meetings and Candidate School.   (Normally our Candidate School is only in the Spring, but due to the increasing interest in the Mission, we are having an additional Candidate School this year!).  We are also in the midst of Frontier School of the Bible’s Missions Conference. At least 10 Missions Organizations have sent representatives, and TBM’s Executive Director, Ron Thompson, is the keynote speaker.  We are excited to see the Lord work in the lives of the students this week.  Tentmakers Bible Mission is holding two roundtable discussions at the home office this week (this is a meeting between Missionaries and students for questions and conversation).  Who knew it could be so busy in rural LaGrange, WY!

Second...we have had a crash course in small town life.  We have been getting to know some of the town’s residents as well as the FSB students and faculty.  The kids have been enjoying a smaller setting at school.  This week we went to the School District’s Board Meeting where Dylan was able to present a song that he has been working on in music class called “The Recess Blues” (you can ask him for the lyrics when you see him next time!).

Third...we have had a crash course in both the mobile home market and concrete / block masonry.  Praise God...we found a house!  It is a 1400 square foot double wide that we will move to LaGrange from Ft. Collins, CO.  And in the midst of it all, God provided a small plot of land to purchase and put a permanent foundation on!  The house should be delivered in the next couple weeks!

...It seems that crash courses are what God has had for us, but the wonderful thing is that no matter what, God is leading and answering prayer and we couldn’t be more blessed!

A quick prayer request!!!

We wanted to keep you updated on what is happening here in Wyoming. We will have a full newsletter coming out soon, but we wanted to give you an update on one particular item. We began the search for a house here in LaGrange before we moved here and it continues still. We have seen God provide in some amazing ways! We now have the opportunity to purchase a single wide mobile home to bring into town and set up on land here. Our prayer request is 2 parts: First, we need to find the right home. This has been a daily event, looking on the websites that offer used mobile homes and every now and then we are able to find one in our price range many of which are located in Northern Colorado, but we so far have run into the problem that the Mobile Home Parks they are located in will not allow them to be moved (so essentially they are not available for us to purchase because they would have to stay in the Mobile Home Park they are in). The second part of our prayer request is that with additional finances, we could purchase a new mobile home (instead of used) and would not have the problem of the Mobile Home Park not allowing it to be moved. This, however produces a need of about $20,000 in addition to what we have available to us currently. Please pray for God's wisdom in this. God has always provided and we know that He will continue to do so!
We will keep you posted on any updates and you can read more about this and other ministry updates when we send out our September Newsletter soon! Thank you for praying. We covet all of your prayers and truly know that God hears when we pray to Him!

Safe and Sound!

Our new home town...LaGrange, WY

Tonight we are writing from LaGrange, Wyoming!  Whew!  And with many things to praise God for.  We ended up signing closing documents on the sale of our house on Monday evening after a day of packing and celebrating Travis' 6th birthday.  Sarah and the kids headed for Wyoming the following morning early and the kids started school at LaGrange Elementary Wednesday morning.  I (Ben) stayed behind in Utah to pick up the moving truck and get it packed.  With the help of many wonderful Utah friends, we were able to get everything packed away (yes, even the motorcycle!) by about 9:00 Tuesday night.  I traveled to Wyoming with a friend from church who was hauling a trailer full of more of our stuff on Wednesday, making what was, for me, record time from Utah to Wyoming.  When we arrived we enjoyed a nice meal at the Dining Hall of Frontier School of the Bible and were blessed when 16 young men (who have much more energy than I do these days) came to help us unload both the trailer and the truck.  What took us 12 + hours to load in Utah took these Frontier students about 90 minutes to unload (yes, even  the motorcycle!).  We enjoyed some lemonade with the wonderful family who is allowing us to use some of their shop space to store most of our things as we look for a more permanent home.  Thursday, our family moved, temporarily, into the Tentmakers Bible Mission guest rooms until the Lord provides a home for us.  Please pray that God would provide something large enough for our family that will meet our needs for the years to come.  Please also pray for these items:
®     That our support level would increase, we are currently at about 30% of our support goal.
®     That God would begin and quickly increase our ministry effectiveness in our new role with TBM.
®     That our family would settle in here well and enjoy this new place that is very different from where we have lived over the past 8 + years.

2 Weeks and Counting...

Ready or not, here we come!!!

Praise God!!!  14 days until the big move!!!  We wanted to update you all on the progress of our move.  All went well with the home inspection and it looks as though our closing date will be August 23rd and we will be driving the moving truck out on August 24th!  We praise God for answered prayer in all these areas.
We are still in the process of finding a permanent place to live once we get to LaGrange.  As we said in our last email we have had a hard time finding anything that was open for rental, but there are some possibilities in the works right now, please pray that God will open a door before we leave Utah so that we can have a place to move into right away.  Please also pray for smooth transitions as Ben wraps up his job at the Credit Union this Saturday and wraps up loose ends at the Church next week.
Please be in prayer for our kids too!  Megan is turning 9 tomorrow (Friday) and Travis is turning 6 on the 22nd, so both of their birthdays are close to all the moving chaos!  Also, all three kids are going to be starting at a new school on the 24th, so they have asked for prayer that they will make new friends and that they will like their new school and teachers!   Travis will begin Kindergarten this year so he will have lots to get used to.  Lots of change happening all at once, but pray that God will provide a way for us to settle in quickly.
We would love to pray for you as well!  Please contact us and let us know how to pray for you!

Under Contract!!!

We are under contract, our house, that is!!!  As of this morning our plans for making the move to Wyoming will be moving forward.  We still have inspections and such to make it through, but if all goes well, we should be moving around the 24th of August!  Thank you for praying!  We have been so blessed knowing that we have loved ones praying about this step into the future of ministry.  There are a few things that you can keep us in your prayers for.

1.  All inspections on our Utah house go well.  With everything approved, August 2nd will end the due diligence period, meaning that the buyers are locked in!

2.  Please pray that God would provide a good, inexpensive place for us to live in when we arrive in LaGrange.

3.  Please pray that the move would go smoothly and that we would arrive safely.

4.  Please pray that we would find more opportunities to share our ministry with churches and individuals who would consider supporting us through prayer and finances.

5.  Please pray that the family, especially the kids would have peace during the whirlwind of the next 4 weeks.  They will be starting school in LaGrange the Monday after we arrive.

We will be headed to LaGrange in the next week or so to look for a place to live!  We will keep you posted along the way!

House Showing Insanity :)

God has blessed us so much over the past couple of weeks and we wanted to share some of that with you!  We have been praying about the house selling and, no it hasn’t sold yet, but in the last 2 weeks we have shown the house 9 different times!  6 of those showings were last week!  Sarah said that the house has never been cleaned top to bottom so many times in such a short period of time before!  We were definitely tired, but thankful that God had provided such strong encouragement for us.  There was also an offer that came out of those showings, but it was too low for us to be able to do it.  Still, it is encouraging to know that there is someone out there that wants the house enough to actually put down an offer.
By way of prayers, we also have been so blessed hearing from so many of you about how you have been praying!  Thank you!  Specifically now, we are praying that we can get out to Wyoming by August 1st and get started with the ministry there!  Please be praying along those same lines with us.  Of course, we want God’s will over all else, but we would really like to get started soon!  We will keep you posted of any progress!

You are a HUGE blessing!

Wow!  We can't even begin to thank you all for the response that we've had as we share this new ministry that is coming soon.  You may have noticed that our shares pledged has gone up from 38 to 52!  You are a HUGE blessing!  This means that we are, by God's grace and tender mercies, at 32.5% of our financial support goal.  As far as our prayer partners goes, we have not set a maximum goal for the number of people that we'd like to have praying for us, so please keep us on your prayer list!  We know this is just the beginning of our journey in getting established in this new ministry, but we know that God is faithful...some prayer items for right now:
1.  Please keep on praying that our house would sell.  We have had only 1 showing in the last 3 weeks, so please also pray that God would keep us encouraged that we are still in His plans!
2.  Pray that God would show us how to complete our time in Utah according to His plan.  There is still plenty to do and plenty to be done, but we want to keep His plan in the forefront of our minds.
3.  Pray for sanity :) since the kids are out of school for the summer!  It is an adjustment, but we love having them at home!
4.  Pray that God would miraculously provide 100% of our support goals even before we head out to Wyoming!  That would be amazing!

Thank you for being willing to keep up with us in our adventures and service to the Lord.  Please contact us if we can pray for you in any way!

In His Service,
The Clines

Funny things...!

I love it when my kids make me laugh!  Not because I think what they are doing is childish or anything like that, but when they really make me laugh...that gut busting, tear jerking kind of laugh.
Dylan makes me laugh when he tells me jokes...not the ones out of the books, the ones he makes up.  And Travis, well, Travis makes me laugh with his somewhat skewed view on life!
Megan makes me laugh with her "girliness".  She tries so hard sometimes not to be girly, but she just can't help it.
The kind of joy that our kids bring to our lives reminds me of the joy that the Father must feel when He looks at us each day, knowing that through the death and resurrection of His Son, He has adopted us into His family.  He sacrificed His BEGOTTEN Son, to bring us into His family as ADOPTED sons and daughters!  Amazing God and Amazing Love!

What's the Point?

So, here's a new blog to add to the millions out there already.  I wanted to describe what this blog is all about.  We are Ben and Sarah and we have been called by God to serve with Tentmakers Bible Mission.  We will be serving in their Home Office located in LaGrange, WY.  Since Tentmakers Bible Mission (or TBM) does not charge administrative fees to its missionaries, we will be serving as missionaries in the Home Office as well.  As missionaries, we are seeking partnership with like-minded people who would like to be a prayer or financial support in this ministry call.  The point of this blog is to keep our partners aware of the progress and to give a place for partners and family and others who love and care about us to keep updated on what is going on with our ministry.  Would you follow along in this journey with us?  We will keep you posted on the latest happenings and prayer requests.
